I know that for many, the Christmas music that started back in early November has been turned off, trees have been boxed or put on the curb, lights have been stored for another year, and the last of the cookies have been eaten.
Not at my house.
Today is the last day of Christmas. Epiphany, to be exact. Three Kings Day.
My tree is still up and lit, and the wise men only today get to stand next to the Holy Family and worship the newborn king.
Tomorrow, it’ll be all over, but for one more day, I am celebrating Christmas.

Good for you, Ginger! I’m a leave-the-tree-up-till-Twelfth-Night person, too. We did take it down yesterday, though, while we had the time. But we made it to the day! We always have real trees and we don’t get one until a week or so before Christmas, so we like to keep it up longer afterward.
We have a fake tree, so the timing is less worrisome, but I really like having the tree up for all of Christmas, and less of Advent. Especially with my son home on his school break, it has been nice to keep the tree up for so much of his visit.
was reading about how the trees and decorations went out now so that the tree and other sprites could explore the woodland and start working on spring after their rest indoors. Made me wonder how confused all the plastic sprites are when we shove ‘em back in a box in the loft for another ten months…
Either angry and spiteful or extremely well rested and groggy would be my guesses.
